Hanging closet organizers are an inexpensive and easy way to increase the amount of storage space inside of your closet. Instead of purchasing expensive shelving units or containers, you can buy an inexpensive and practical hanging system that gives you just about the same benefits for a fraction of the price.

Utilize That Unused Space in Your Closet

Hanging closet organizers utilize the unused space that is in between the high shelves and the floor below. You can hang them up, just like a regular clothes hanger, but unlike a hanger, they provide additional storage compartments. By using one of these systems, you can nearly double the amount of space that you can use inside of your closet. If you have found that your closet is in constant disarray, or you have run out of room to store anything else, then a hanging closet organizer is a great way to increase storage capacity.

You should have little problem storing a variety of items in your organizer. Lighter weight items like belts, ties, hair accessories, and even make-up are some of the things that could easily be stored in a hanging closet organizer.

You can also use the compartments to store different kinds of clothes that you cannot or do not want to hang separately. For instance, you can use the top compartment for sweaters, and the next compartment for shirts, and another compartment for socks.

Just make sure that you keep in mind any weight limits, don't try not to stuff too much stuff in the compartments or put too much weight on it. Since it will hang like a clothes hanger, there will be a limit on how much weight you can put on it. It may offer you several compartments, but you need to be mindful of the weight that you are putting inside them. Some hanging organizers can only hold about 15 pounds or so.

Keep in mind, you may not be able to use a hanging closet organizer for your shoe collection. Shoes often weigh about 2 or 3 pounds, which means you will not be able to store more than about 5 or 6 pairs on any one hanging organizer to reach the maximum weight limit. Because of this, some people use storage solutions such as bin organizers or shelves to store their shoes.

However, if you have a lot of clutter or random "junk" in your closet, or you have many smaller items that you need to put into one place, a hanging closet organizer makes a lot of sense. They are a relatively inexpensive and easy way to tidy up your closet and get everything into shape in almost no time.
